Roshon

A baby boy was found wrapped in a blanket on the doorstep of a temple in 423 AB. The temple’s clergy rejoiced at the unexpected gift and named the baby Roshon, meaning a light in the dark. Roshon enjoyed a stable childhood on the temple grounds but grew more rebellious in his early teenage years.

One evening, Roshon snuck out of his room to join some local children for a moonlit party in the woods. Their fun was cut short by the appearance of a berber, a small creature with sharp claws that turns mad during a full moon. The children scattered after the berber attacked. Roshon ran until he reached the end of a cliff. He fell to his knees and cried out to the late sorceress Daya as the berber came closer.

A pack of wolves burst through the woods and scared the berber away at the last moment. Roshon ran back to the temple and burst into tears as he told his adopted family what happened.

Roshon’s family contacted the Night Priests, warrior monks who served the Order of the Second Moon. An elder Night Priest named Jo-Lon visited Roshon’s temple and put him through a series of tests. The tests determined what Roshon’s family suspected, Roshon was moon-touched. He had the ability to wield magic; specifically magic powered by the light of Ehra’s second moon.

Roshon’s family encouraged him to go with the Night Priest to begin his training. Roshon spent the next decade training under Jo-Lon. He eventually graduated and became a Night Priest Hunter, a warrior mage charged with protecting others from creatures of the night.

The Order of the Second Moon recently sent Roshon to the Northern Territories of Medehra to investigate reports of vrukuhls exhibiting odd hibernation patterns. When not hunting creatures of the night, Roshon can be found in the local tavern or brothel.
