Vruhkuhl

Vicious, fast, and reckless; these three words can only begin to describe the terrors commonly known as vruhkuhls. The diminutive creatures stand only half as tall as the average human, but their blood lust more than makes up for their stature. Sickly, thin grey skin envelopes a nightmarish body engineered for climbing up the cave walls they call home. Vruhkuhls’ lanky limbs end in hands and feet tipped with sharp claws perfect for rending unprotected flesh. Their jaws have evolved to easily crush the shells of subterranean inhabitants and are able to do serious damage to the northern residents of Medehra. Their lack of eyes enhances the vruhkuhl’s remaining senses of hearing, taste, and smell.

Little is known about the vruhkuhls’ origins. Many believe their hives used to be located much further beneath Ehra’s surface until the Dwarves accidentally unearthed them. Others say the Dwarves bred them through their often morally-ambiguous sciences to serve as tunnel guards. Regardless, vruhkuhls now adhere to a cyclical schedule consisting of years-long hibernations and months-long feasting periods. Vruhkuhls rarely venture outside of their cave systems unless motivated by hunger or other, more nefarious, forces.
